PHS Students: I want to first say Congratulations to our Lady Rams Volleyball team on their first round win tonight in the state tournament. We at PHS are very proud of you and all the hard work you have put in to get this far! We want to wish you the best of luck as you continue in the state tournament at the 2nd round game in the state tournament on Wednesday, October 27th at 2pm. To help support our volleyball team I know that many of you students would like to attend the game to cheer on our Lady Rams. While we will not be doing a pep bus at this time due to reasons related to COVID, we do have an opportunity for those who want to drive on their own and attend this game to do so: If a student wishes to go to the 2nd round game on their own on Wed. October 27th they must do the following: 1) Bring a signed note from their parents/ guardian allowing them to check out of school to student services prior to 7:55am on Wednesday morning. 2)The note must have a phone number on it that the school can call to confirm that the student may check out early/ at the time listed on the note. Please be aware that if we are unable to get a hold of the parent then we will not allow the student to check out. 3)The student is responsible for driving or riding with their guardians to the game in Marion,AR. 4) Prior to attending the game the student must purchase a ticket for the event. See the Marion School District Facebook page for the QR code to use to purchase tickets. 5)While during the game on Wednesday the student must find the PHS administrator at the game and sign in with them so that their absence can be excused. Thanks for your interest and support for our Lady Rams and best of luck to them in the 2nd round ! Go Lady Rams !!! -- Josh Shepherd Principal

Paragould High School Senior, Ashton Rodrigues, is a Semifinalist in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. He is 1 of only 16,000 high school seniors to reach this level of academic achievement. Proud is an understatement. Way to go, Ashton! #psdrams #rampride

The District Communicable Disease Exposure Control Plan has been modified. Masks are currently optional. If the Paragould School District has quarantined 250 or more students (approximately 8% of the district student enrollment) due to close contact to positive COVID-19 cases, then the District will enforce the emergency face coverings policy until the School Board revokes such policy. We must remain vigilant. We must continue to focus on mitigating strategies that have helped us reduce the spread of COVID-19. A variety of measures will remain in place to ensure the safest learning environment possible. The Paragould School District is fully committed to the health and safety of all students, staff and visitors. We are proud of the actions that were taken to ensure a safe start to the school year. Please continue to do your part to limit the spread of COVID-19. Go Rams!

PHS Homecoming Week Dress Up Days
PHS Students, Staff, and Community, I am excited to tell you that next week, Oct. 4-8, is Homecoming Week at PHS. Our theme this year is Ram Strong! Our football team will be playing at home against Nettleton on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. The announcing of the homecoming court will be that evening at Ram Stadium at about 6:30pm  One of the fun things we'll continue this year will be our dress-up days. Please see the schedule below:  Monday:        Dress up as your favorite pun or idiom Tuesday:       Dress up as a squad Wednesday:  Dress up as your favorite holiday Thursday:      Dress up as your favorite candy or food Friday:           Ram Strong- Blue and Red Day I want to encourage you to dress up on these days. It is really entertaining to see the creative and exciting outfits that many of the students and staff wear during this fun time!  Another activity we will continue with this year will be the PHS Homecoming Assembly. Due to circumstances with COVID, we will not be able to have the student body or our community come watch the assembly in the gym like we normally do. Instead, the students and community will be able to watch the homecoming assembly through livestream. The homecoming assembly will begin about 1:30pm on Friday afternoon.  Unfortunately, we will also not be able to have our traditional homecoming dance this year.  I hope that you will take the opportunities next week to get involved in the activities related to homecoming. These are some of the best times and memories that you will make as a student here at PHS and we hope that you will enjoy this time of celebrating PHS and its wonderful history!  For the Red and Blue, Josh Shepherd  Principal  Paragould High School
