PARAGOULD'S BEST IN SIGHT & SOUND!

The Paragould PRIDE Marching Band is the largest & one of the most successful organizations on the Paragould Secondary Complex Campus. The Paragould PRIDE has solidified itself as one of Arkansas' & the Mid-South Region's Premiere Marching Ensembles and is currently the defending eight time State Champion in class 5A. The 180+ member group is the most visible & recognizable entity of the Paragould Band Program & School District. It is no wonder patrons, administrators, teachers, board members, & all others coming in contact with the PRIDE call them "The District's Banner Program!". The marching band is celebrating its 89th Anniversary in 2024. The marching band travels across Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, in 2013 Georgia, in 2015 Indiana, and in 2017 New York competing in local, regional, state, and national competitions. The PRIDE has performed before for audiences of 24,000+ at Arkansas State University, as well as thousands around the Mid-South!

The band consists of members who are in the 9th-12th grade, have completed at least two years of beginning & intermediate band training, and have passed their region check-point audition each spring Members must have a strong desire to succeed at anything placed before them, no matter the circumstances or odds. The Paragould PRIDE begins work in January, through color guard, drumline, & front ensemble percussion camps.

After those lines have been set in late spring, extensive summer rehearsals begin with some camps in June & most camps occurring in July & early August. Once school begins, the PRIDE rehearses 2-3 times per week after school, with color guard & percussion holding additional sectionals. The PRIDE performs at all home games, various away games, Paragould Christmas Parade, pep rallies, & selected basketball games. The competition schedule is the most rigorous & demanding of any program in the state of Arkansas.
